Professor of Urology at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt – Subspecialty in Neurourology and
Urogynecology.
The General Manager of the Ain Shams University Obour Specialized Hospital.
MD Thesis in a subspecialty of Neurourology at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. With
special interest in Lower Urinary Tract Disease, Overactive Bladder, Female Urology, and
Neurostimulation.
Professor Mourad is active in the International Continence Society (ICS), serving on its Board of
Trustees as one of the Executives, also serving on the Educational Committee, Continence
Promotion Committee and Currently Chairing the ICS Fistula Committee.
Served as the chairman of the ICS 38th annual meeting in Cairo.
He is the founder and President of both the Pan Arab Continence Society (PACS) and African
Fistula & Continence Society (AFFCS) and chairman of its Scientific Committees.
Professor Mourad is on the Scientific Committee of the World Congress of Lower Urinary Tract
Symptoms of the Societe International de Urologie (International Urological Society).
He is on the Taskforce of pelvic Floor Reconstruction of the FIGO (International Federation of
Gynecology and Obstetrics).
He is conducting surgical and educational missions in Africa helping in the treatment of Obstetric
Fistulae and training African Doctors how to manage the possible complications. He is the
director of the ICS workshops for Surgery of Vaginal Fistula.- Professor Mourad is the Director and one of the Tutors of Middle East Urodynamic Courses of
Bristol Urological Institute. The course has been running successfully through last 6 years in
many Arab countries and once in Thessaloniki/Greece.
He is conducting a well established training course of Urogynecology in Egypt and receiving
trainees of urologists and gynecologists from many countries.
Professor Mourad is on the Editorial Board of Neurourology and Urodynamics Journal, The
Chief Editor of Afro Arab Journal of Voiding Dysfunction and is a reviewer for the International
Urogynecology Journal, Neurourology and Urodynamics Journal, Urologia Internationalis, and
several regional journals.
He had been invited as a Guest Speaker, Chairman and Moderator in many regional (Arab) and
International events including Asian, European and American scientific meetings.
Member of residents training program of voiding dysfunction in Urology Department, Ain Shams
University.
Active Member of the AUA, EAU, ICS, ICI, SIU, IUGA, FIGO, ICUD, ISSM, EUA, AAU and
others.

On going research with Wake Forest University – North Carolina on Stem Cell Therapy in the
