Haihong Jiang was born, raised, and educated in China. He completed his M.D./Ph.D. at Third Military Medical University and Southwest Hospital in Chongqing, China; where he spent 10 years learning Clinical Medicine, training in Urology, and conducting research in Neurourology & Urodynamics. He received his Medical Doctor Licensure in 2001 and Attending Doctor Certification in Urology in China in 2006. Then he came to the United States starting postdoctoral fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic, where he was the American Urological Association (AUA) Foundation's Endowed Research Scholar at the Lerner Research Institute and the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute. Dr. Jiang has authored/co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed original articles. Dr. Jiang's research focuses on the control of lower urinary tract function, including the physiology and pathophysiology of the bladder and pelvic floor; specifically overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder after brain or spinal cord injury, and neuromodulation. He has received several professional awards; including the Best Basic Research Contest Grand Prize from the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology (SUFU) in 2008, the Research Scholar Award and several Travel Awards from the AUA Foundation; and the 1st place Yong investigator Award from the 2010 AUA Foundation/Society for Basic Urologic Research (SBUR) Summer Research Conference, "Urinary Incontinence: Integrating Basic and Clinical Research Perspectives".
By returning to China, Dr. Jiang accepted a position as Professor and Vice Chair for the Department of Urology from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, where he has established a neuro-urology center for clinical and translational researches.
