Cornelia Betschart, MD Prof, completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology in 2006. For her subspecialty training in urogynecology she completed a research fellowship at the University of Michigan (John DeLancey) from 2011-2013. She has been a board-certified urogynecologist since 2016 and was president of the Swiss Urogynecological Association until 2023. Cornelia Betschart is responsible for the Urogynecology Unit in the function of Professor and Lecturer. In 2018 she was cofounder and responsible for the successful certification of the Pelvic Floor Center at the University Hospital Zurich. Since 2009 she has been a member of the Cantonal Ethics Committee Zurich. Cornelia Betschart is deputy chairwoman of the Department of Gynecology at the University of Zurich and grant holder of the Swiss National Science Foundation for various urogynecological projects. Her research interests include pelvic floor anatomy and imaging in preventing POP and advancing urogynecological surgery.
