Helene De Bruyn is a resident in urology at UZ Leuven and a PhD student at KU Leuven, Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Laboratory of Ion Channel Research. She studied medicine at KU Leuven and graduated magna cum laude in 2018. She is currently working on the development of a new technique for the assessment of urinary tract function in mice in both healthy and pathological states. Her first paper regarding this subject called "X-ray videocystometry for high-speed monitoring of urinary tract function in mice", was recently published in Science advances.
