Claire Ervin is a Continence Nurse Consultant working in the continence department of a major tertiary teaching hospital in Melbourne. Claire has worked with people experiencing bladder/bowel dysfunction in sub-acute and community settings for over 20 years. She has a particular interest in neurogenic bladder and bowel assessment and management, focusing on patient education, health promotion and self- management. She is also interested in improving patient’s health literacy and reducing the impact of bladder dysfunction on work and social participation.
Claire has a Masters of Nursing in Urology from La Trobe University, completing a research thesis on the conservative management of nocturia. In conjunction with her clinical role, Claire is also a part of the Melbourne Health multidisciplinary team undertaking research projects related to the assessment and management of nocturia.
