Naheed Kapadia is a Senior Specialist Women's Health & Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist at Latifa Women & Children Hospital (LWCH), Dubai Health Authority with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She developed a special interest in Pelvic Floor rehabilitation during her early clinical attachment years at Aga Khan University Hospital (2005). Later she did her Women's Health & Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation fellowship at KK Women’s & Children Hospital Singapore (2008). She also holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a Masters in Public Administration, and several other certifications in advanced Pelvic Floor Dysfunction from the UK and Canada. In addition, she is also a BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance) USA Certified Therapist.
Besides pioneering a training program in Women’s Health as a subspecialty in Rehabilitation Sciences and holding 17 years of clinical practice, she is also an active member of IUGA, ICS, a co-founder member of PUGA, and a UAE Ambassador in the IUGA Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Special Interest Group.
Her current work includes PFR clinics along with Joint Review Clinics in DHA. She has also introduced Proctology rehabilitation in the UAE. She has vast clinical expertise in complex Uro-Gynae, Urological, and Colorectal conditions. She diligently maintains a productive tertiary referral for all pelvic physiotherapy cases at the Rehabilitation Department at LWCH, Dubai. Recently appointed as clinical support service leader representing rehabilitation services in OBS and Gynae/Women Health service line within DHA.
Her contributions towards community development include knowledge dissemination at IUGA Meetings (Meet the Expert Corner) and hands-on workshops in Pelvic Floor rehabilitation. Her research focuses on the effects of bladder training and pelvic floor muscle training in female patients with Overactive bladder syndrome. She is also affiliated with peer-reviewed articles published in journals like Neurology and Urodynamic, Pakistan Journal of Rehab Sciences, conferences, and World Physiotherapy Congress 2021.
