Sarah’s expertise in health psychology includes behaviour change work and process evaluations of large multi-centre clinical trials. She has worked in interdisciplinary environments at the Universities of Southampton, Otago (New Zealand) and now at Exeter’s Medical School. She is a Chartered Physiotherapist and a Chartered Psychologist; worked clinically in the NHS and private sector; when she also competed as an international athlete in the 400m Hurdles. Sarah’s interests include applying psychology to rehabilitation, such as goal-setting and facilitating adherence to exercise therapy for various conditions including stroke, low back pain and urinary incontinence. She uses mixed methods for research and is the lead editor of the textbook ‘Interprofessional Rehabilitation: a person-centred approach’.
