Dr Stoffel is a Professor and Chief of Division of Neurourology and Pelvic reconstruction (NPR) within the University of Michigan Department of Urology. Prior to this, he has served as Associate Chair of Ambulatory Urology, Service Chief, and Acting Chair for the department. Dr Stoffel is an externally funded researcher and is actively involved in research. He is one of the founding members of the Neurogenic Bladder Research group, which now includes neuro-urology/reconstructive surgery programs from 9 academic institutions across the US and Canada and has projects spanning across multiple neurogenic bladder patient populations. He has chaired American Urologic Association committees as well as work groups on chronic urinary retention and pre-operative care and co-chaired a work group on chronic urinary tract infections. He is a member of the AUA quality improvement committee, Practice Guidelines committee and is an Assistant Editor at the Journal of Urology. He is a nationally recognized referral surgeon and has presented his research at national and international forums.
