Earlier this year, ICS proposed the production of "position statements", short, peer reviewed pieces on innovations in continence products and urodynamics equipment. Accompanying the first of these was a membership questionnaire. We received a lot of feedback on this proposal, 75% of which was in favour of the statements; many of you pointed out all of the cautionary things that need to be taken into account when producing such statements, and the need to tread carefully between impartiality and endorsement.
Position statements and the membership survey results were discussed at the Board meeting at ICS 2015. We have decided not to pursue these, despite membership support; this is largely because of the balance between time and effort to produce these and the likely financial return. The Board would like to thank all of you who put pen to paper, finger to keyboard in order to provide us with constructive feedback on this matter.
