The 14th Libyan Urological Association Conference (LUA23) took place last month (7th - 9th December, 2023) at Waqaduqu main halls in Sirte city, Libya.
It was held over three days in a vibrant atmosphere charged with enthusiasm and a commitment to innovation. Attended by around 270 delegates, the conference provided a platform for urologists, researchers, healthcare professionals and industry experts to converge, exchange ideas and explore the latest advancements in urological care.
The first day (Thursday 7th) was full of live surgery workshops, including Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, Penile prosthesis surgery, TULEP, PCNL and a Urodynamic workshop. The complete scientific program comprised approximately 72 presentations by national and international doctors as well as sessions by international societies.
Libyan Urological Association was proud to have effective collaboration with the ICS and a great session was delivered by ICS speakers from the USA, India and Turkey. The session commenced with a welcome by Education Committee chair, Prof Howard B. Goldman; followed by Prof Sanjay Sinha, who presented a lecture on the approach to high-risk neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction. Prof Tufan Tarcan then gave a lecture on the importance of urodynamic study in urology and Prof Elise De presented on differential diagnosis of pelvic pain.
We, the Libyan Urological Association, wish to strengthen and continue our collaboration with the great ICS and look forward to meeting you again at LUA24 which will be held in Tobruk city, Libya.
