The terminology for urinary and faecal continence product designs and features used in ISO standards, guidelines, medical device registers, reimbursement schemes, research publications, product packaging and product information currently differs. There is a need for uniformity on how the different product designs and categories are named. This information is necessary for many audiences, including patients and caregivers, policymakers and payers, governments, health and social care professionals to provide clarity and consistency.
The responsibility of the working group will be to develop an ICS Standard in line with research and stakeholder feedback into an up-to-date and evidence-based Terminology Standard as a basis for clinical practice and research.
