Below you will find all the workshop application questions to help you prepare for your workshop submission. This allows you to view the information you need to supply ahead of starting your submission.

Remember you can start an application form using the online system and can then edit at any point before the deadline - Tuesday, 9th January 2024 at 23:59 UTC.

7. Keywords
Enter all 3 keywords. A keyword is a search phrase and can be multiple words e.g. "indwelling catheter" is a keyword.

If your workshop was previously accepted for ICS 2023, select it from the drop down list and note what updates have been incorporated in the 'Repeat Description' text box.


STEP 2: AIMS & OBJECTIVES

9. Aims and Objectives
Provide a maximum of 100 words about the workshop to assist delegates in deciding on which workshop to attend. This wording, unless changed by the Education Committee, will be used to advertise the workshop.

10. Learning Objectives
Please enter 3 simple learning objectives.

11. Suggested prior reading/learning
Please provide references for literature, webcasts or videos that would assist the delegate ahead of the workshop and provide background information on the topics that will be covered.

12. Multidisciplinary & International Faculty
Please confirm that you have considered international faculty from multiple disciplines by ticking the relevant box. If not, then please explain the reasons.


STEP 3: EDUCATIONAL VALUE

13. Educational Value
Provide why your workshop is of sufficient educational value to be included in the programme in 250 words or less. Provide details of:

  • how delegates will engage and interact with your faculty
  • justify the outline of the workshop
  • how the education you are providing can be translated into clinical practice (where applicable)

STEP 4: DESCRIPTION

14. Description
Describe your workshop in detail so that the Education Committee can assess and score your proposal. This text will also be utilised to create the handout. The delegates will be able to view the handout ahead of the meeting in order to choose which workshop to attend. We recommend you provide as much detail here as this will greatly improve your chance of a successful application. If your workshop is successful you will have the chance to review this text before your handout is published but we recommend you spend the time on an expanded description now which will save you time later.

You will need to provide a minimum of 500 words (2000 max) to proceed with your submission.


STEP 5: SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

15. Special Requirements

Select from:

STANDARD ROOM SETUP ONLY:

  • Standard room set up is theatre style with a head table for all speakers.
  • Standard AV supplied is microphones; laptop; pointer; projection screen.

OR

ADDITIONAL SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Any specialist items must be approved prior to the application being accepted.
  • Please indicate any companies and their products that are being used during this workshop.
  • Should you require expenses for any speaker who fits within the guidelines or just requires entrance to the workshop please indicate here with full reasons.

If you select 'Additional Special Requirements' then you must provide all details of what is required so this can be considered and if your workshop is accepted, these details will then be sent on to the ICS Office and the Congress Organising Company (Kenes International) so all necessary arrangements can be made.

Please note, late requests will not be considered.

16. Webcast Recording Permission
Indicate whether speakers give permission to be filmed for ICS TV. If permission isn't granted, please state the reasons why.


STEP 6: SPEAKERS

17. Speaker and Chair
Add speakers to the programme using the orange add speaker button.

  • If the speaker is an ICS Member, you can search and select them from the ICS Directory using the 'SEARCH' text box.
  • If the speaker is not a member you will need to add them manually by clicking the 'add them manually here' hyperlink under the search box.

The chair of the workshop is also a speaker. You can make another speaker the chair by moving them to the top using the arrow buttons.

For each speaker provide the following:

  • Experience & Qualifications, provide details why this speaker is able to present on this topic (include their degree).
  • Please state any Conflicts of Interest or Industry Disclosures for each speaker (e.g. funding / honoraria / patents / ownership / shares etc.) or state “NONE”.
  • Speakers Own Products, if the speaker is presenting their own products please give details.
  • (Optional) Up to three publications for each speaker.

STEP 7: SCHEDULE

18. Schedule
Please complete the schedule of your workshop by adding the length, title and speaker of each talk.

Ensure you leave time for a Q&A at the end of the session. During this, Chairs will also need to ask delegates to complete the workshop evaluation form. A PowerPoint slide with a QR code and link to this will be provided in advance.


STEP 8: CONFIRMATION

19. Confirmation – tick all

  • I AGREE TO KEEP THE ICS OFFICE INFORMED OF ANY CHANGES TO THE WORKSHOP SPEAKERS/PROGRAMME
  • I HAVE CONTACTED THE SPEAKERS FOR MY WORKSHOP AND THEY HAVE AGREED TO PARTICIPATE
  • IF ACCEPTED, MY SPEAKERS AND I WILL FOLLOW THE CME GUIDELINES WHEN PREPARING OUR SLIDES
  • IF ACCEPTED, I WILL REVIEW THE DRAFT HANDOUT PROVIDED BY THE ICS OFFICE AND CONFIRM ANY NECESSARY CHANGES BY THE DEADLINE GIVEN.
  • IF ACCEPTED, MY SPEAKERS AND I WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER AND PAY FOR THE ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION (THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE WORKSHOP)
  • ALL THE SPEAKERS GIVE PERMISSION TO BE FILMED FOR WEBCAST ON ICS TV
  • I HAVE INCLUDED ALL FUNDING / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS WORKSHOP IN THE APPLICATION
