This roundtable will provide knowledge of the physiology, pharmacology and pathophysiology of the prostate, bladder and penis and help in understanding the mechanisms of action and side effects of current drug treatments for male pelvic conditions. It will also help participants understand how new emerging treatments act and how the actions of a single drug may simultaneously address the symptoms of more than one condition.

At the conclusion of this session participants will be able to:-

  • Understand the current and emerging strategies for treatment of male LUT conditions.
  • Describe the role of the mucosal microvasculature in bladder function and its potential as a drug target.
