A clinician must be capable at facilitating shared decision making with patients. Evidence for competing interventions in the field of LUTS and POP is increasingly complex. Clinicians must master the skill of presenting this evidence for patients. Sound interpretation of estimates of harms and benefits is therefore vital. This workshop provides important principles of evidence based medicine and enhances their interpretation of evidence and skills for shared decision-making.This workshop consists of 6 videos which can be watched on demand, but we ask that you complete the following questionnaire on your current knowledge before you watch. https://rug.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/preview/SV_eY8U7Q5fw7XX9dP?Q_CHL=preview&Q_SurveyVersionID=current
Learning Objectives - Workshop attendees will learn:
How the GRADE approach can be used to summarise and rate a body of evidence.
How to judge the risk of bias in randomised trials and observational studies.
- How to assess inconsistency of results as well as indirectness and imprecision of evidence.
How to compare and present different measures of effect size and understand the difference between patient
importance and statistically significance.
- How to interpret odds ratios for common conditions.
How to use decision aids to enable shared decision making for complex choices in clinical encounter.
