Chronic pain is a complex condition which can affect any pelvic organ in people through all age groups regardless of gender and race. The diversity of its clinical manifestation and often massive impairment in quality of life challenges specialists from many disciplines. What is required, is a holistic approach which is often lacking due to poor understanding of the involved mechanisms, structures and their interaction. Therefore, this workshop primarily focuses on the involvement and interaction of pelvic and neuronal structures in the evolution of chronic pelvic pain and elaborates onto interdisciplinary strategies to holistically approach the problem.
