The role of synthetic mesh in the management of SUI and urogenital prolapse remains highly controversial. Increasing litigation around the world has led to the suspension of many mid urethral tape procedures in several countries and a ban on vaginal mesh operations for prolapse in many others. Consequently many products have now been withdrawn leaving urogynaecologists and urologists pondering how to now best manage women with SUI. This interactive session will look at the global overview of where we are now as well as exploring how we should best manage our patients in what many clinicians would consider to be a ‘post-mesh age’.
