Trainee Session

ICS Members Only Restricted Video

The ICS is pleased to announce the second ICS Trainee Session at ICS 2014; the session will be for trainees, students and fellows. We have prepared a relaxed session with a combination of lectures and presentations which we think will be of great interest to those just starting their careers. Young ICS members will present lectures relating to research which will be followed by presentations from those with non-discussion posters who then receive feedback on their presentation skills, slides and scientific content. Plus for the first time ever we will also be hosting a trainee evening out!

Trainee Session:

Young ICS members will present lectures relating to research which will be followed by presentations from those with open-discussion posters who then receive feedback on their presentation skills, slides and scientific content.

Trainee Night out:

The session will be followed by the ICS Welcome Reception in the conference centre. Following the Welcome reception all trainee session attendees and speakers will be transported by bus to the Rio Scenarium nightclub-voted one of the top 10 nightclubs in the world by the Guardian Newspaper! On arrival you will be provided with your two free drinks tickets and shown to the ICS reserved space. From there you are free to mingle with your peers or explore the fantastic nightclub set over 3 floors each of which holds an astonishing mix of vintage items: an old pharmacy dating back to 30s, ancient Chinese ceramics, seasoned barber chairs and plenty of freak objects! Return transport will be provided to the Copacabana/Ipanema neighbourhoods.

The session is free of charge but pre-registration is required. Please register for this session online when you register for the Annual Meeting. If you have already registered for the Annual Meeting and wish to now add this session please contact Mrs Daniela Bloch at dbloch@kenes.com. We welcome ICS members and non-members from all disciplines who have graduated or completed their education in their specialty field within the last 5 years.

How to submit a paper for this session
If your abstract has been accepted as a non-discussion poster then please e-mail the office by 1 August 2014 advising us of your abstract tracking number. All received abstracts will then be re-selected for presentation. If your abstract is re-selected you will be asked to present for 7 minutes which will be followed by 5 minutes of feedback.
