The scientific chair was Francois Haab, and was the second conjoint meeting with IUGA, the first being in Denver in 1999.
It was a very successful meeting aided by superb conference facilities at the Palais des Congrès, and the fact that Paris is Paris.
The Gala Dinner was held at the Palais de Versailles, and commenced with drinks and nibbles on the steps overlooking the sweep of gardens and fountains while the sun set along the avenue of fountains. Behind were the buildings of the palace. The dinner itself was held in the historic Orangerie.
